Merry Christmas

Posted on December 25, 2009 at 12:00 am by: Justen Martian - Uncategorized - 1 Comment »

Christmas is finally upon us. I am sipping a cup of Hot Chocolate as I write this blog post, and can only think of what this day can hold. Many families and friends will gather for a time of opening presents, eating, and celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. With the busyness of the Christmas season, we often look past the true meaning of Christmas. I always love reading over the Christmas story in Luke Chapter 2, of how Jesus was born to the virgin Marry in a manger. I also love the song “I Celebrate The Day” by Relient K. It simply says:
“And the first time that You opened Your eyes
Did You realize that You would be my Savior?
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did You know that it would change this world forever?”

Jesus Christ being born in a manger, He had no idea that He would be the savior to this world, The One that conquered death. The One that forgives sin’s and wants relationship with every single person. That is what really gets me excited about Christmas is our Lord and Savior.

May this Christmas bring you Joy, Peace and many blessings.

Merry Christmas,
Justen & The Northwest Christian Music Team

Using Twitter To Keep Fans Informed

Posted on October 5, 2009 at 4:07 pm by: Justen Martian - Promotion - No Comments »

Twitter is a constantly growing Social Network, and is being used more everyday by people. I have seen where bands & artists have started to jump on the bandwagon and use Twitter to help keep their fans informed. There is so much you can do with twitter from posting Pictures, Video, News, and Random Thoughts.

Pictures (Twitpic)

Basically what Twitpic does, is let you share pictures via Twitter. You can either upload the pictures via the website or from your mobile phone. Where this could come in handy in a band/musician standpoint is, posting pictures from your shows and random places you go on Tour.  http://twitpic.com/

Video (TwitVid)

The easiest and quickest way to share videos on Twitter from your phone or computer. Also, you can share videos in Realtime. Post those funny moments from tour, or clips from your show. As well as video from in the studio. Another way of sharing content on Twitter. http://www.twitvid.com/

News & Random Thoughts

Post upcoming shows, album releases and other band news and your fans will get the updates to their either on the web or phone depending on how they have it set up. As well as share random thoughts such as where your going to eat dinner at, and maube even some random facts abut members in the band. All of that can be done via the Twitter interface of from your phone.

So as you can see, Twitter can be used to gain fans and keep current fans informed on whats going on with you. It’s the best thing to use for a mobile fan club also, since it’s FREE! So if you don’t already have a twitter, than you should make one. It’s one valuable tool your going to want to use. If you do use Twitter, well Tweet on!

Rethink Monthly Looking For Artists To Submit Music

Posted on August 28, 2009 at 1:42 pm by: Justen Martian - Northwest Christian Music, Promotion - 1 Comment »

I received this email from Chris Treborn who is helping Rethink Monthly on Rethink Radio looking for Artists to submit music.

Dear Artist,

I have been asked to work with Rethink Monthly on Rethink Radio. Currently it is kind of basic, as we just share the music in MP3 format. Please check out http://rethinkmonthly.com and see what we have going right now. As we gain momentum, I plan on making more of Rethink Radio & with the help of artists like you, we can expand.

We need Quality songs of all different genres, and we prefer family friendly material, suitable for all of our readers & listeners. Feel free to submit as many songs as you would like, but we can’t play them all, and we will try to pick the best of the bunch. In some cases, we might have to say NO to submissions. So, please don’t be discouraged if we do not play your music on Rethink Radio.

Email MP3(s) to: Cassandra@Treborn.com
I think email will allow you about two songs but it might be easier using my DropBox. Go to:
http://soundcloud.com/x3b/dropbox/profile

Thank you for your time and talent.

Habitat For Humanity Benefit Concert Recap

Posted on May 7, 2009 at 5:34 pm by: Justen Martian - Event - No Comments »

Almost a month ago we hosted a benefit concert for Habitat For Humanity. We’d first like to start out by thanking all of you who attended. We had a very successful night with raising over $200 for Habitat For Humanity and having around 80 people show up for the event. The money raised is going to help the local Evergreen Habitat For Humanity, so it is making a difference in the community where NW Christian Music is based and where the concert was hosted at. Below you will find a highlight video from the event. Enjoy…

Happy Easter

Posted on April 12, 2009 at 12:42 am by: Justen Martian - Uncategorized - No Comments »

Today is Easter Sunday, the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ from the dead. We’d like to express the real meaning of this day. Jesus Christ died on The Cross for our sins, and on the third day He rose again. This is why we celebrate Easter. He did this out of sacrifice so that we may enter into a relationship with Him and be forgiven for our sins.

“Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.”- Luke 9:23-24

If any of you have any questions about having a relationship with God, I challenge and pray that you would contact me at justen@nwchristianmusic.com I would love to link faith with you, and help answer your questions.

Have a blessed Easter with family and friends. Another blog post with a recap from the Habitat For Humanity concert, is on its way soon.
