Generation Unleashed Has A Web Store

Generation Unleashed now has a web store. You can buy all of their CD’s, as well as individual tracks. Also other merchandise is available, go check it out. Proceeds from the GU store that are worship related go to developing the worship program at City Bible Church and all other merchandise proceed are used to scholarship young people to go to GU Summer Camp.

Paul Wright/ RootDown and More Concert To Aid Homeless Youth

Sat. Feb. 9th, 7 p.m. - RootDown featuring Paul Wright will headline a concert to benefit Hosea Homeless Youth Services. Also on the bill will be Nik Fury, the BreakDown Dance Company and the Great Exploration.

RootDown is a Eugene based northwest reggae band that was recently featured on Eugene Weekly’s’ “Next Big Thing” compilation, has toured across the nation, has national radio exposure and has headlined a stage at the Eugene Celebration. Paul Wright is a Eugene native contemporary Christian artist who has had several billboard chart topping singles.

Hosea Youth Services is the youth site for the Egan Warming Center providing a warm place for street kids to sleep on nights when the temperature has dropped below 28f this winter. Hosea Youth Services also provides meals, shower and laundry facilities, job counseling, friendship and other services to Lane Counties’ homeless youth year round.

The concert will be held at Northwest Christian Colleges’ Morse Event Center. It will include a light show by All Pro DJs; door prizes provided by area businesses and will be emceed by DJs from Hope 107.9 and Tampa Bay Buccaneers All Pro kicker Josh Bidwell. The concert will be family friendly. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Advance tickets are available in Valley River Center and gateway Mall at Parable Outlets. Concert goers are encouraged to bring an additional donation for Hosea Youth Service, if they can. All proceeds will be given to Hosea Youth Services. The concert is being sponsored by 94.9 Jamz, Hope 107.9, Northwest Christian University, Redemption Rocks! Concerts, Audio Idea and others.

Machaira Forced To Change Name

Machaira has been politely informed that a Christian group in California owns the legal rights to the name “Machaira”, and that it is a violation of federal law to continue using that name. To avoid being busted by the Feds, a new band name – which hasn’t been decided yet – will be announced at the 2/21 concert at Riverview Community Church in Kalama, WA. It’s hard to believe how quickly this past year has gone. As a band we had a lot of ups and downs throughout the year. But we are so blessed with how God has blessed us these past few weeks working through personal life and coming together to continue and plan for our biggest year yet.

This past year has really been great for testing waters of all areas. We have dabbled in various sounds and genres and have played around with lots of various kinds of songwriting. For the first time we got to sit down and plan together our plans for 2010. And this has given us so much direction and momentum going into another year.

We have some big goals. And we need your help to accomplish them!

First off, if you’re a praying man or woman, we would really appreciate your prayers for our future. We need prayer for songwriting, touring, financial stability, ministry and our personal lives.

Second, we are going to be working extremely hard to build a fan base. You can help by word of mouth here on myspace and in person.

Third, we want to play a lot of shows this year. Bring us to your church or venue! You can email us at embercitymusic@gmail.com to set up a date.
